    Community Forums General Dentistry My mother is 50 years old and she had severe toothache yesterday and today morning her whole face is swollen, its even already but her swelling has not reduced. Can you please help me?

      swelling of face or gums can be because of infection. Antibiotics and painkillers will help to reduce the swelling and to get relief from pain. However, medication is for temporary purpose. You should consult a dentist and get the treatment done. Tooth decay, gums infection can cause swelling.
