Yes, It can be filled with tooth coloured material. But the disadvantage of it is that that can be discolored after sometime. And it has lesser strength. You have other options also to feel the gap like dental braces or dental veneers. Veneers are the artificial thin layer which can be stick onto the teeth. It does not have problem of discoloration.
